From: Amanda Morgan
Subject: Request from Cambridgeshire’s hearing loss charity

Dear Parish Clerk,

I am getting in touch on behalf of the charity Cambridgeshire Hearing Help. I don’t know whether you have heard of us? We work in partnership with NHS audiology services and Cambridgeshire County Council and our mission is to support people with hearing loss across Cambridgeshire to maintain their wellbeing and independence. Through our core services we support approximately 6,500 individuals a year (76% of whom are aged 75+) who face barriers to accessing mainstream audiology services because they are older, frail, have other disabilities or live in rural areas. We do this through the provision of community-based NHS hearing aid maintenance and hearing loss peer support, information, advice and signposting via drop-in clinics, home visits, residential home visits, day centre visits, and sheltered housing visits.

We are getting in touch because we would like to increase the level of support that we are able to give to vulnerable Longstowe residents with hearing loss by recruiting a local volunteer. We are therefore wondering whether we would be able to advertise for a local volunteer in your local parish magazine and also on your local parish notice boards and website? If this is possible, please could you let us know how we could do this?

Many thanks and best wishes, Amanda
