Defibrillator: there was considerable discussion on siting (electricity supply / mobile phone connection / vandalism), the interest in the village on the Longstowe Facebook page, grant aid and training. The situations in nearby villages were noted. Agreed to request via Skylark, possible locations at the edge of properties.
A presentation was made to Mr Dick Murden, from the Parish Council, in recognition and thanks for his 41 years as the Parish Footpath Warden. Barbara Cooper, Chair, gave a short address to which Mr Murden replied.

18 TO SIGN AND APPROVE MINUTES OF LAST TWO MEETINGS AND THE PARISH OPEN MEETING
Minutes of 21st May 2021, the Minutes of the Parish Open Meeting 21st May 2021 and the Minutes of the Planning Meeting of 9th June 2021 were agreed and signed.
19 REPORTS FROM COUNCILLORS AND PCSO
Cllr Tumi Hawkins, SCDC: highlighted, a) New Cycle Routes Consultation, b) Comberton Greenways, c) E-W Rail – Cllr Hawkins response is available online, d) Covid – Sth Cambs District has the highest Delta variant infection rate in Cambridgeshire.
20 MATTERS ARISING/TO REPORT FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES (FOR INFORMATION ONLY) – COUNCIL TO REPORT THE FOLLOWING
a) Pathway along A1198: Agreed to make a volunteer application to CCC Highways for mowing alongside the path.
b) Drainage: sewers, road gullies and flooding by St. John’s House 24/12/2020:
The Road Traffic Order has been granted for closure of the High Street between St Johns Farm and Middle Farm. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 26 July and 29 July 2021. Agreed to put information on the village sign boards.
c) Repair and painting of wooden village signboard: Steve Owen has now replaced the rotting wooden board with the spare one from outside the village hall. This help was gratefully acknowledged.
d) Speed warning sign A1198: There was discussion on type, siting and costs. A grant aid application will need to be made.
e) Footpath Warden: No additional report.
f) In-person / remote Parish Council meetings – call for evidence: Cllr Cooper has responded to the consultation.
g) Street Lighting – UMSO: We have now received confirmation that the streetlights have been changed. It will be necessary to follow this up to correct the billing.
21 MEMBERS’ DECLARATION OF INTEREST FOR ITEMS ON THE AGENDA

23 TO CONSIDER PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED

a) Village Hall update: Bookings and use are now restarting. Tesney Carey has assisted with some cleaning and offered further help; 1-2 hours every fortnight, which has been gratefully accepted. Cllr Bevan was thanked for arranging the mowing of the long grass in playground area.
b) Covid-19 village update: Continued low, regular demand for assistance with picking up medication. There was concern that an empty council house in the village had still not been let. Enquiries will be made to the Housing Department.
c) Welcoming new residents: The suggestion from Maddy Crowther, that any new residents to the village receive a welcome letter from the Parish Council, was supported.
25 CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED
A list of correspondence received is printed in the Agenda which is placed on the notice boards and on the web page prior to the Parish Council meeting; details are available from the Clerk.
26 SYKLARK – TO CONSIDER ANY EDITORIAL ISSUES
Items discussed for the next issued include: Presentation to Dick Murden, further information on renewable electricity, siting for a potential defibrillator, speed sign.
