62 THE MINUTES OF LAST MEETING
Minutes of Wednesday 18th October 2017 were agreed and signed.
63 REPORTS FROM COUNCILLORS AND PCSO
Cllr Bridget Smith (SCDC) introduced Cllr Tumi Hawkins (SCDC) who represents Caldecote Ward, to which Longstowe will move in May 2018. Cllr Smith then reported on further problems in the Planning section of SCDC including the possibility of ‘Designation’ (Government take-over). From this and other reports, it seems the new position of Mayor has power of veto on many council decisions. Cllr Sebastian Kindersley reported on the Local Plan, Children’s Centres, and the increase in road accidents.
64 MATTERS ARISING/TO REPORT FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES
a) Planning application withdrawn: S/2931/17/FL: Wrights Farm House, High Street, Longstowe. Change of use and conversion of a disused stable block to holiday accomodation.
65 MEMBERS’ DECLARATION OF INTEREST FOR ITEMS ON THE AGENDA None received.
a) Civic Voice: Conservation areas at risk: request for donation of £50 refused.
b) Parish Precept for 2018–2019. Held over to next meeting.
c) Pensions Regulator: Automatic enrolment declaration agreed.
67 TO CONSIDER PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED
S/3855/17/FL: W.G.B Bevan: The Beeches, 63 High Street, Longstowe, CB23 2UN: Change of use of existing dwelling to a self-catered holiday let, demolition of the rear stable buildings and erection of 5 holiday let apartments. The PC supported this application.
68 TO CONSIDER OTHER MATTERS
a) To consider creating a Longstowe Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan. A survey is planned for December/January.
b) Speeding: mini roundabout at the Fox crossroads suggested. Cllr Sebastian Kindersley advised the PC that a roundabout would not be acceptable to CCC.
c) Village Hall news: £142.12 was raised at the Tea Party for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
d) Rural Services Network survey (circulated), completed at the meeting.
